GForge, SourceForge and Collabnet

I was looking around for a competitor to Collabnet or SourceForge as I was thinking of setting up one or the other on a box I had. Too bad, both are not freely downloadable. SourceForge offers an Enterprise Edition and Collabnet is on a subscription model.

Lucky for me, I came across GForge.

In my group, there are several small projects that are spread out across different departments, and codes that were written in 1 applications could possibly be reused, if only people knows about them.
My hope is that we can bring a higher level of visibility into all these projects which are scattered amongs different small teams of developers. GForge can form the basis of a collaborative development infrastructure for my team.

So if you're looking for a competitor or alternative to SourceForge/Collabnet, give this a twirl.
